Job of the Day – Tax Senior (CPA)

Position: Direct Hire Tax Senior (CPA)

Location: Amherst, NY

Compensation: $60,000-70,000 annually DOE

Hours: Flexible schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage one or more client assignments simultaneously, ensuring overall success of each project
  • Identify client’s needs/opportunities in order to sell/cross-sell products or services
  • Establish work schedules through effective use of project management techniques
  • Draft client reports
  • Manage the implementation of solutions for clients
  • Assist with the development of training programs and act as instructor in professional development programs
  • Mentor and develop the technical and professional skills of tax staff
  • Evaluate and maintain tax return preparation software and management of tax intern’s training and monitoring work assignments
  • Assign the team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness, and completion of assignment tasks within agreed time frames
  • Identify opportunities to improve assignment profitability and identify any risk management issues
  • Develop personal marketing plan/programs
  • Collaborate with clients and internal CPAs

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor Degree + CPA License REQ!!
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Recent experience in public accounting
  • Strong project management, creative problem solving, and leadership skills required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills required
  • Must be a positive team player who is comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a working knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas
  • Must have a general understanding of market trends
  • Must feel comfortable generating leads, making contacts and securing clients
